Born in Berlin, Tom studied Directing at KASKELINE Film Academy and later Screenwriting at "Film University -Konrad Wolf Babelsberg-Germany.

He was awarded with "Up and Coming" for VOLL KRASS, won the "Gerhard Ruge Stipendium" in 2003, the ProSiebenSat1 Exposé - Contest in 2015 and got a Dumont Journalist Award for his Webseries "Ich bin ein Berliner" in 2019.
